In September the sea is still warm (24°C) but the beaches empty out: the Velvet Beach is enjoyed in total relaxation. The light turns golden, perfect for photographing the Rotonda a Mare at sunset and for walks along the seafront.
Among the events: the Utopica Fantasy Festival animates the old town with cosplay, comics and shows, while in early October Pane Nostrum (9–11 October), the big artisan bread fair, fills the Foro Annonario with aromas and tastings.
