Senigallia is compact: the Velvet Beach, the old town and the harbour are a few minutes' walk from each other. There are three main areas to stay in: the seafront, extremely handy for the beach but busier and seasonal; the station and harbour area, practical but less characterful; and the old town, where the town's life is concentrated all year round.
The old town is the most balanced choice: you're among the Rocca Roveresca, the Foro Annonario and the Portici Ercolani, with restaurants, markets and cafés on your doorstep, and the sea is still about 10 minutes away on foot. Off-season, when the seafront winds down, the centre stays alive — a real advantage if you travel in spring, autumn or winter.
